Works With Mac or Windows
The current version of Carbonite is designed for Windows XP and Windows Vista. Carbonite supports both the standard 32-bit and 64-bit versions of both XP and Vista. Carbonite will not support older versions of Windows (Windows 98, Windows 2000, and Windows ME) or Linux operating systems. Carbonite plans to support Windows 7 when it is released.
Carbonite is also available for all Intel-based Macs running OS 10.4 (Tiger), 10.5 (Leopard)or 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
While we did not specifically develop for nor test Carbonite on Windows Server operating systems in-house (such as Windows Server 2003 & 2008), some of our customers have used Carbonite successfully on these operating systems. Because Windows Server configurations vary, our best recommendation for Windows Server is to install a free Carbonite trial on your Windows Server machine, back up some data, and do a test restore of the files you've backed up to make sure Carbonite will work in your Windows Server environment. |
